Active TB in HIV-infected children
We estimated the incidence of newly diagnosed active TB in HIV-infected children and compared survival rates of children with and without newly diagnosed active TB in a large HIV cohort in Thailand. A low incidence of newly diagnosed active TB was observed but HIV-infected children with active TB were at high risk of death. This may reflect the lack of adequate tools to screen and diagnose children for TB.
